One Night Stand
"One Night Stand" is a photographic series that delves into the intricate and internal world of sexual intimacy. It explores the beauty of the imperfection of the human body in a raw, gritty, and abstract way. The series aims to capture the essence of the need for human connection, the desire for the other(s), and the intensity of physical attraction.
In this project, I make use of the tools of the "hookup" culture, such as applications, adult meeting websites, and social networks, to find couples in long-term relationships. I then photograph them in their most intimate moments, becoming the photographic One Night Stand.
As a photographer, I strive to be a fly on the wall, capturing the moments as they unfold without any preconceived notions or expectations. I do not give any instructions to the models. They are free to express themselves as they please, allowing me to capture the most authentic and genuine moments of their intimacy. I aim to focus on the chemistry, tension, tenderness, aggression, and face-to-face interactions during sex. This approach results in photographs that are raw, gritty, and unapologetic, but also beautifully and intimately human.
ONS can also be seen as a compulsive "collection" of intimate moment mirroring my own past use of this kind of application. It is a deeply personal and thought-provoking exploration of human connection and the evolving landscape of intimacy in the digital age.
